Rozanne Bell
“Each picture I paint is an original with no one painting being the same as another.”
Rozanne has been painting since she was a little girl living in Zimbabwe. Her paintings are vibrant, bold and colourful; embodying her lively character. Initially painting the animals and flowers of Africa, Rozanne moved to Britain in 2002.
While her subject matter has expanded to include landscapes, harbours and moonlight scenes, the memories of Zimbabwe continue to affect her brilliantly vivid works. These days, her love of the Dorset countryside (where she lives) and the harbours of Cornwall influence her art.
Rozanne’s techniques encompass a variety of mixed media. Furthermore, each piece is painted in six layers, individually coated with resin, and each layer takes nine hours to dry! While a painstaking process, the resulting artwork reveals an enormous depth of colour and texture.
